Aspects on Buderim Apartments

BRD Group are proud to announce the completion of the Aspects on Buderim apartments.

The development blends urban style with the laid-back lifestyle of the Sunshine Coast to create large open spaces perfect for relaxed living and entertaining. The angular complex is designed to maximise the site's natural aspects by incorporating large operable glazing to allow daylight to flood in, and the cool coastal breezes to flow through.

Drayton Shopping Centre now Complete

The new Drayton Shopping Centre is now open for business, with major tenancies including Woolworths, Chemmart Pharmacy  and BWS, with the remaining 1300 square metres of space occupied by specialty stores.

Part of the initial concept was to allow for potential future development, however as the first stage was delivered on time and budget, the client was pleased to continue with the future development on site as well.

Working with the natural characteristics of the site, the team at Brad Read Design Group has delivered a successful outcome that contributes to the community.

'Pac Av' the New Landmark Multi-Residential Building for Tannum Sands

High on the hill there is a new bold identity for the once tired and dated corner in Tannum Sands, south of Gladstone. The iconic site has been reinvented with a new multi-residential complex with some ground level retail tenancies to maximise the utilisation of the site.

The built form merges angular and curvaceous language to impose the 5 level and basement structure on the landmark site. The design of the iconic 'Pac Av' development has been successfully achieved through a collaborative process between client and design team. Through the use of robust materials and finishes in bold and contrasting form and colours, the once tired site has been reactivated.

Below are some shots of the completed building.

HIA & Bluescope Steel 2012 Solutions In Steel Award

''Bluescope Steel and the HIA have teamed up to present the HIA-Bluescope Solutions in Steel Awards, which showcases Building Designers across Australia who have used steel in residential construction projects that are of outstanding quality, original or a practical solution to a building challenge''.

BRD Group's entry was this Sunshine Coast residence designed over 3 levels. By selecting steel as the core element for the home we were able to create the fine lines and the building form and the features that are evident in the completed structure. The use of alternative products such as concrete or timber would have produced a bulkier and more expensive home.

The resultant use of a core steel structure produced a house that is extremely solid in its exposed hilltop location and also allows the house to blend and endure the test of time with low maintenance, sustainable materials.

Exposed galvanised steel was also used internally to compliment the external structure.  Using the exposed steel frame to the stair and lift symbolically showed how the steel was a core element to the house and the rawness contrasted, but also complimented the other natural and modern finishes.

BRD Group were selected as 2012 finalists.
